Packing services in Toronto
Packing is where most moves go wrong. Our packers use double-wall dish barrels, real packing paper instead of newspaper, and a room-by-room labelling system so unpacking takes hours rather than weekends.
Choose your level
- Full-home packing: Everything boxed, labelled and inventoried by room, usually the day before the move.
- Fragile-only packing: Kitchen, glassware, artwork, mirrors, TVs and electronics packed by us, the rest by you.
- Custom crating: Wood crates built on site for artwork, marble, chandeliers, instruments and antiques.
- Unpacking service: Items placed, boxes broken down, paper and cardboard removed the same day.
Packing tips from our crews
- •Books and dishes go in small boxes, linens and pillows in large ones. Weight beats volume.
- •Plates travel on edge like records, never stacked flat.
- •Label the side of the box, not the top, with the destination room and a one line content list.
- •Screws, brackets and remotes go in a labelled bag taped to the item they belong to.
- •Photograph the back of your TV and desk before unplugging anything.
- •Pack a first-night box: bedding, towels, chargers, medication, toilet paper, coffee.
Frequently asked questions
- How much do packing services cost in Toronto?
- Packing is billed hourly per packer, typically $65 to $85 per packer per hour, plus materials at cost. A one bedroom condo usually takes one packer four to six hours, a two bedroom two packers a half day, and a three bedroom house two packers a full day.
- Can you pack only the fragile items?
- Yes, and it is the most popular option. Most customers pack their own clothing, books and linens and have us handle the kitchen, glassware, artwork, electronics and mirrors, which is where damage claims actually come from.
- Do you unpack too?
- Yes. Unpacking includes placing items in cabinets and closets, flattening the boxes and hauling away all the paper and cardboard so you are not living in debris for a week.
- When should packing happen?
- One or two days before the truck arrives for a full-home pack, or the same morning for a fragile-only pack. Materials get delivered a week ahead so you can start on the non-essentials yourself.
- How many boxes will I need?
- A rough guide: 25 to 35 boxes for a studio, 40 to 60 for a one bedroom, 60 to 90 for a two bedroom and 100 to 150 for a three bedroom house, weighted toward small boxes for books and dishes.
