- Heavy items go in small boxes, light items in large boxes, never the reverse.
- Label every box on two sides with the destination room, not the contents of the old room.
- Use towels, linens and clothing as free padding for fragile kitchenware.
- Take a photo of the back of your TV and computer before unplugging anything.
- Keep hardware for disassembled furniture in labelled zip bags taped to the piece.
- Pack a first-night box per person so nobody digs through the truck at midnight.
